Surprising My BFF Gone Wrong

tldr; i told her about it and she goes, "lol i love you! you probably just interrupted naptime"

Feb. 11-12

I decided on a whim to go see my best friend and not tell her I was coming. I get on the plane and suffer through a 15-hour flight from wherever the hell I lived all the way to North Bay (LOL). As was normal in the dream, you could choose to come back to the airport later on to retrieve your bags, or you could take them with you as you leave (like now). I'd had enough of airports & planes so I left it for later and grabbed a taxi to get to her house. It's worth noting at this point that it's mid-summer!

I was taking in the gorgeous views of the water, trees, skies, flowers... everything -- if you know anything about North Bay, "tropical" is not the way to describe it but that's what I was seeing. I got to this adorable little neighbourhood and called my friend after the cab left. I asked her what she was up to today and she said she wasn't doing anything. I asked for her address to double check that I was at the right place (something I should've checked before I left the airport lol), and when I confirmed I was at the right house, I told her to go outside and I hung up. She opened the door and looked at me like I was going house to house trying to sell insurance or something. "What are you doing here?". She had the most unimpressed look on her face. I panicked. Were we in a fight or something that I didn't know about? Did I miss something major?

You know the scenes in movies and shows where something dramatic just happened or something awkward happens and it cuts to the next scene and you never see how they handled that situation? That's what bugs me the most, and it happened in my own dream! Later on we decided it was time to go back to the airport to get my bags. When we got there they told me I wasn't allowed to and that it wasn't possible. Other people were doing it though so I couldn't figure out why they wouldn't let me. Made no sense! So I started arguing with different people and running through security checks and stuff just to get to the part of the airport where my bags were being held. But I was new to this airport and I didn't really know where I was going. The building was built side by side in two halves so it looked like one building but half was for incoming and one was outgoing. The only way to go between each is by staff-only entrances and hallways which I couldn't get access to.

After more fighting and sneak attempts, it became clear that I was not about to get my bags back. My friend and I ran outside and out of frustration and jet lag (15 hours might I remind you) I let myself collapse in the field (because it's summer, remember?). My friend joined me and we watched planes take off and land. And then one crashed in the field we were in. We were running away but there's not much you can do. After it crashed, we were okay but I was running around it to see what we could do to help, and to find my friend, but I noticed this plane not only was missing its wings because of the crash, but it literally didn't have any wings, period. It was a literal tube... no wonder it crashed. Upon realizing that it never had wings to begin with I woke up.

So, apparently dreaming of a plane crash / accident means I subconsciously feel that I have like, less than no control over my life and I feel like I've failed or currently am failing at whatever I'm doing. I don't think it's that deep, because I feel fine, but sure. Out of control = crashing. Buuuuuut also I wasn't on the plane so I don't know what that means.

Until next dream... ;)
