A Vicious Dog Attack

Jan 7-8, 2021

I think this one's safe to say it came about from watching Escape Room (2019) before bed mixed with some other stuff going on in my life - but still doesn't make much sense!

The house in this dream was a combination of the first house I lived in when I was in Colorado and the house we lived in when living in London (ON), except it was now a semi-detached home. I had the room above the garage and the window on the side looked over to the next door (attached) neighbour's driveway. My grandmother lived with us (my mom, sister, and I and someone else that I can't figure out) because she had Alzheimers. I guess in the past (in the dream) my grandmother would continually call 911 and not have anything to report so in response they blacklisted our number, essentially making us unable to get through if we called again.

I can't remember this part of the dream, but the fifth person in the house who I can't recall was a woman, blonde, older than me, and I don't know why she was awake. She had some kind of portable puzzle thing (like an escape room kind of puzzle) that looked like a map of a maze but the maze was only completable with a certain code that moves little handle knob things to the centre, but it had to be the right combination (like the door in the first scene of the Escape Room movie from 2019 if you've seen it - I tried to find a picture and couldn't).

My dad's dog Chase being a good boi

I guess she was up late trying to figure it out and decided to go outside for fresh air. It was the middle of the night - almost sunrise actually. I was awake too, and watched her from my bedroom window. The neighbours were also up, with their three or four dogs. All but one were puppies. I think they were bull terriers or something but I can't really remember. She was talking to the neighbours about the maze puzzle, but my windows were closed so I only heard the muffled sounds. I was about to go back to my bed to catch up on sleep I had left when I watched the oldest dog grab hold of her wrist, like it was in slow motion. Her scream was so clear it was like she was in the room with me. (Pic is my dad's dog Chase!)

I saw it all happen and the neighbours were standing there like it was normal. The dog wouldn't let go. The woman was screaming and crying and yelling and fighting the dog to make it let go with no success. I ran downstairs with my phone calling 911. It was a bloody sight, and the neighbours still just stood by like it wasn't an issue - not even in shock or fear, just like normal.

As I was running downstairs fear took over my body and when I went through the garage to find the side door to get to her, there was so much blood it was a like a war zone. The puppies, the owners, and that woman who lived with us were all gone - but somehow the adult dog was now multiple vicious dogs and started chasing me into the house. I tried to lock myself in the laundry room to call 911 but they were pushing through the door. Terrifying!

The 911 operator answered and I was screaming about how my friend was attacked by big dogs and I don't know where she went or if she's okay, and that we needed an ambulance and police to arrest the neighbours or something. In the middle of my complaints the recording said "I'm sorry, the person you've called can't answer right now. Your number has been blacklisted." So I called a few more times thinking I called the wrong number somehow, and it kept happening.

At this point it's now morning. I somehow made it into the downtown area, still in my PJs and in bare feet. I ran into a hotel and begged to use their phone to ask for help. They understandably looked at me like a weirdo off the streets but eventually handed me a phone. Then I called 911 but my mom answered from home. She still had no clue what had happened, and when I tried to describe it all to her she was like "hm.", very matter-of-fact. I was so frustrated and scared, but I'd noticed the dogs hadn't followed me so I took a seat in the courtyard in the back of the hotel at a table and tried to breathe. And then I woke up.

If you click the photo in this post, it'll bring you to a site that points out some theories to what these kinds of dreams could mean to some people.
